Terms of Service
These terms set out the agreement between you and Occasi when you use our service. We’ve written them in plain English.
1. Who we are
These terms are a contract between you and Occasi Ltd (“Occasi”, “we”, “us”), a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17528823. Our registered office is 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, United Kingdom. Email: [email protected].
We’re not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices.
2. Who these terms are for
These terms apply to you if you create an Occasi account or buy something from us. If you’re a guest who has opened an invitation, you don’t need an account and you don’t enter into a contract with us. Please just use the invitation fairly (section 4), and see our Privacy notice for how your reply is handled.
3. Your account
You need an account to make and buy an invitation. You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must give accurate information and be at least 18 years old. Let us know promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use Occasi only for lawful, genuine event purposes. You must not use it to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights, including copyright or trademarks.
- Upload content that is offensive, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or harmful.
- Send spam, run scams, or collect people’s data without their knowledge.
- Text anyone who hasn’t agreed to hear from you about your event.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
5. What you can buy
The Invitation, £49.99, one-off. One invitation in any of our Invitation designs, for one celebration with one or more events (for example a mehndi, the ceremony and a reception). It includes:
- online replies;
- your guest list and seating plan;
- menus, dress codes and travel details for each event;
- the planning tools in your dashboard;
- digital save-the-date cards for that invitation.
Guests come back to the invitation page for the details.
The Occasi Pass, £69.99, one-off. Everything in The Invitation, in any of our designs (The White Pavilion, Sugar Bloom and The Tunnel Book come only with the Pass). It adds each guest’s own Pass: a personal page with their events, table and meal choices, shown at their invitation link after they reply. It also adds:
- an updates bell for your news;
- wedding-day mode;
- guest self-service (guests can update their own details).
Upgrade from The Invitation to The Occasi Pass, £20. Adds the Pass features to an invitation you’ve already paid for. You can keep your design (where it has a Pass version) or switch to a Pass design. Your invitation link stays the same. Your hosting end date doesn’t change. The upgrade doesn’t start a new hosting period.
One purchase covers one invitation. Another celebration needs its own purchase. You can make private drafts for free before you buy.
No charge per guest. There’s no guest limit, and each invitation can have up to 12 events.
Couples pay once. The Invitation, The Occasi Pass and the upgrade are one-off payments: there’s no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Occasi Pro, for wedding planners and venues, is free for the first 12 months after they join, with no card needed at sign-up. After that, it costs £19 a month if they choose to continue, and they can cancel at any time. Weddings a couple shares with them and archived weddings never count towards the fee. We email at least 60 days before the free year ends, and nothing is charged unless they choose a plan. Any commission for planners and venues is set out in our separate partner terms.
What you need. Occasi works in current versions of Safari, Chrome and Edge on phones and computers. Guests don’t need an app or an account. If a device can’t play a design’s video, it shows a still picture instead.
6. Hosting and access period
Your invitation stays online for 5 years from the date you pay. We show the end date in your dashboard. Publishing later doesn’t restart or extend the 5 years. Save-the-date cards can be shared once your invitation is paid, before your invitation is published.
After that, your guest link stops working. Your invitation, guest information and photos stay in your account until you delete them.
7. Starting straight away, and your right to cancel
What you buy is digital content. Your invitation, its design, the dashboard tools and the save-the-date cards are digital content, ready to use as soon as your payment is confirmed.
Starting straight away. Before you pay, you tick a box to ask us to give you access straight away and to confirm that you understand you lose your right to cancel once you publish or share. Pay stays switched off until you tick it.
14 days to change your mind, until you send. You can cancel for a full refund within 14 days, starting the day after your payment is confirmed, as long as you haven’t yet published or shared your invitation or a save-the-date card. For a Pass upgrade, that’s until guests can see their Pass. After that, you can’t cancel for a change of mind. Your order confirmation email records your request to start straight away, your acknowledgement and when you gave them.
Not ready to start? Don’t pay yet: your draft stays free to edit until you are.
If we don’t have your request. If our records don’t show that you ticked “Start now” before paying, you keep your 14 days to cancel, starting the day after your payment is confirmed, for a full refund.
If something is wrong. None of this affects your rights if what we supply is faulty or not as described. Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and if it isn’t, you’re entitled to have it repaired or replaced, or to some or all of your money back (Consumer Rights Act 2015, sections 34 to 36 and 42 to 45; see section 11).
Text credit. You can cancel a top-up within 14 days for a refund of any unused credit. You can also ask for unused paid credit back at any time, from Texts in your dashboard, before your hosting ends. Credit already spent on texts that have gone out can’t be refunded.
8. How to cancel
Email [email protected] and tell us you want to cancel (for example a text-credit top-up within 14 days), or that something is wrong with what we supplied. Give your account email and order reference if you have it. You can use the cancellation form below, but you don’t have to. You’ve cancelled in time if you send your message before your 14 days end.
We refund you within 14 days of the day you tell us, to the card or payment method you used, with no fee. Cancelling The Invitation or The Occasi Pass takes the invitation offline. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel or refund a purchase by itself, so please email us.
9. Prices and payment
How ordering works. You make your invitation in a free private draft. When you’re ready, Publish shows what you’re buying, what it includes and the total price; you choose your billing country and tick “Start now”. Pay takes you to Stripe’s secure checkout, where you can check the amount and go back to correct anything before you pay. When your payment is confirmed, we email you a confirmation of your order with its key terms, and your purchase is listed in your dashboard; these terms stay on this page. You can change your invitation’s words at any time. If you notice a mistake in your order after paying, email us. We make our contracts in English only.
We show prices in the currency for where you are: pounds sterling (GBP), or US, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand dollars, or euros. The price on Publish and on Stripe’s checkout is the total you pay, in that currency. We don’t add fees at checkout. We take payment by card through Stripe. If your card is in another currency, your bank may charge you a conversion fee. That’s set by your bank, not by us.
Text credit costs 10p per text segment for UK mobiles. A text with up to 160 standard characters is one segment. If it includes emoji or letters outside the basic set (for example Gurmukhi, Urdu, Hindi or some accented letters), one segment holds 70 characters. Longer texts use more segments. You always see the exact cost and approve it before anything is sent.
10. Text messages to your guests
Texts are sent from Occasi’s number on your behalf. Each one starts with your names and includes the guest’s own invitation link and a stop link. You must only add mobile numbers of guests who are happy to get texts about your celebration, and you must not use texts for advertising. If a guest uses the stop link, we stop their texts. Delivery depends on mobile networks, so we can’t guarantee a time.
Text credit belongs to the invitation you bought it for and lasts as long as that invitation is hosted. Unused paid credit can be refunded on request at any time before your hosting ends (section 7): email us or ask from Texts in your dashboard. We refund it to the card you paid with. If you delete your account before your hosting ends, ask for your unused credit first. Once hosting has ended, unused credit can no longer be used or refunded.
11. If something goes wrong
We must supply what we’ve described, with reasonable care and skill, and digital content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If we don’t, tell us and we’ll fix it or supply it again. If we can’t do that within a reasonable time, or without significant inconvenience to you, you can have some or all of your money back. These are your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms reduces them. Advice is available from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133).
We work hard to keep Occasi running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available without interruption. We may carry out maintenance or occasionally experience downtime.
12. Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, for business losses (Occasi is for personal celebrations), or for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as a mobile network or email provider failing to deliver.
Apart from that, our total responsibility to you for any purchase is limited to the total you paid for it (including any upgrade and unused text credit). This limit never stops you getting back what you paid where the law gives you that right. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
13. Your content and ours
You keep ownership of everything you create and upload: your text, photos, guest details and registry. You grant us permission to host and display that content as needed to run the service for you. We own Occasi itself, including the platform, templates, designs and software, and you may not copy or resell it.
You’re responsible for what you upload. Only add photos, music and words you have the right to share, and only share children’s details or photos when you have authority to do so. Guests can add photos and messages to your memory book. You can hide any of them.
If you see anything unlawful, harmful or posted without permission on Occasi, email [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 working days, and we remove unlawful content once we’re aware of it. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks section 4.
14. Cash gifts and external links
If you add a cash-gift link or link to an external registry, payments and purchases happen directly between you, your guests and those third parties. Occasi doesn’t handle that money and isn’t responsible for those external services.
15. Changes to the service or to these terms
We may change these terms or the service to reflect changes in the law, to improve security, or to add or improve features. We’ll tell you by email at least 30 days before any change that affects you significantly. If a change is to your disadvantage, you can end your purchase before it takes effect and we’ll refund the unused part of your hosting period (and any unused paid text credit). We won’t remove a main feature you paid for during your hosting period.
16. If we suspend or close your account
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms (for example by using Occasi to send spam or upload unlawful content). We’ll tell you why and, where it’s safe to, give you a chance to put it right first. If we close your account because of a serious breach, we’ll refund the unused part of your hosting period, minus any reasonable costs your breach caused us. If we stop providing Occasi for any other reason, we’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice and refund the unused part of your hosting period.
You can stop using Occasi and delete your account at any time from your settings. This permanently removes your invitations, replies and personal details, and ends access to your invitations.
17. Earlier purchases and the Signature package (no longer sold)
Hosting for earlier purchases. If you bought The Invitation, The Occasi Pass, a Standard or Signature package or anything else from us before November 2026, it stays online for 5 years from the date you paid, the same as a purchase today. A £20 upgrade keeps that end date too.
Until October 2026, we sold a Signature package for £69.99. It included one invitation in any design and a second invitation, with save-the-date cards for each. If you bought it, nothing changes for you:
- you keep both invitations;
- you keep access to the designs that were included;
- both stay online for 5 years from the date you paid.
As before, the second invitation had no separate price, so there’s no refund if you don’t use it. Your rights over the paid invitation aren’t affected. If you upgraded a Standard package for £20 before October 2026, you also keep everything that upgrade included. Purchases made under an earlier offer otherwise remain subject to the terms agreed at that time.
18. Complaints
If you’re unhappy, email [email protected] or use Help in your dashboard. We’ll usually acknowledge within 1 working day and aim to resolve things within 10 working days. We’ll keep you updated if it takes longer. We’re not a member of an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. If we can’t resolve your complaint, you can contact Citizens Advice or take a claim to court (for smaller amounts, the small claims process).
19. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in your local courts, and your local consumer law protections apply.
